Position: Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Psychology (Children's Mental Health) [R0152299]

University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor‑in‑Residence, Psychology (Children’s Mental Health) (R0152299). The position is a full‑time, 9‑month, non‑tenure track teaching faculty member to begin Fall 2027.

Role of the Position

The primary responsibility is the development and instruction of undergraduate courses in children’s mental health. This new B.S. program in Children’s Behavioral Health Psychology will offer courses covering youth assessment, health promotion practices, addictions, targeted intervention practices, professional development and ethics, inclusive practices, and capstone. The position also involves teaching foundational and upper‑division courses. Career advancement is available with evidence of continued professional development and service contributions.

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline, a commitment to undergraduate education, substantial teaching experience (including online teaching), and be willing to work with a program coordinator for assessment and quality control.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in psychology or related discipline from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and/or CHEA, with substantial teaching experience.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
  • ABD candidates will be considered.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
