About the Role

As an Intermediate/Pre-K Floater Teacher at Merryhill School, you will play an integral role in creating a warm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Working in close partnership with the Lead Teacher, you will support daily classroom operations, facilitate learning experiences, and help foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and eager to grow professionally, with opportunities to develop skills that support advancement into future Lead Teacher roles.

What You’ll Do
  • Cover for absent teachers, give breaks and lunches, and assist teachers during busy periods.
  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and daily classroom routines.
  • Foster students’ social, emotional, and developmental growth through positive guidance and interaction.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and school leadership to ensure consistency and quality in the learning experience.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents and guardians, as needed.
  • Adhere to all school policies, safety procedures, and state licensing requirements.
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CDA, Associate’s Degree, or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructional guidance.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Must meet all applicable state licensing, health, and background clearance requirements.
