As a Computer Teacher
, you will introduce students to basic computer use, keyboarding, cyber‑safety, and the use of various software programs for academic purposes, and you will do meaningful work that makes a difference for our students by:
- Implementing instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
- Identifying, selecting, and modifying instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Utilizing direct instruction techniques to guide students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth needed for primary school success.
- Assisting in assessing changing curricular needs and offering plans for improvement.
- Maintaining effective and efficient record‑keeping procedures.
- Communicating effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
- Collaborating with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
- Modeling professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
- Ensuring that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for the age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
- Participating in training and staff meetings.
- Meeting professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
- Evaluating each student’s learning capabilities and celebrating student accomplishments.
- Encouraging students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
- Being active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required, and participating in events outside of normal hours.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
- A current teaching certificate.
