Position: Elite Sports Mentor, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

If you believe the greatest kindness for a student is refusing to compromise standards, read on. You've competed, built, or performed at a level few ever reach—elite athletics, a distinguished degree from a top university, admission to a highly selective firm, or a venture you launched yourself. Imagine channeling that rigor into a classroom of K‑12 students who have never encountered someone with your credentials, someone willing to push them toward standards they never imagined meeting.

If that sounds too demanding, this isn't for you.

Alpha leverages AI‑driven 1‑on‑1 learning to help students complete core academics in roughly two hours daily. The remainder of the day is dedicated to life skills, passion projects, and authentic development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a mentor whose personal accomplishments define excellence—someone capable of reading the room, establishing tone, and guiding them through resistance, distraction, and doubt.

You won't be teaching. AI delivers the academic content. Your role is to motivate, coach, and enforce the same exacting standards you've applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time is spent in direct 1‑on‑1 and small‑group coaching, identifying obstacles and setting ambitious targets. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life‑skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement. The final twenty percent is dedicated to morning sessions that set a tone where mediocrity has no place.

The trajectory here emphasizes depth over advancement. You begin by mastering Alpha's framework and earning student trust. Within months, you become the person they rely on to push them beyond perceived limits. The payoff isn't a title change. It's the same students, year after year, maturing with you as their constant. It's witnessing a student unable to hold a gaze in September confidently addressing a room of adults by May.

This position remains student‑centered. Students are the purpose, not a means to something else. If your motivation to leave your current role is mission‑driven rather than résumé‑driven, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Conduct 1‑on‑1 and small‑group coaching using Coachbot analytics and student data to identify obstacles, establish ambitious objectives, and ensure accountability for execution.
  • Facilitate structured life‑skills workshops designed for mastery, drawing on authentic stories from your elite background, and measuring mastery through Alpha's Test2

    Pass framework.
  • Establish campus cultural standards each morning with focused sessions that reinforce high‑performance expectations.
  • Monitor student progress continuously and adapt coaching approaches based on evidence rather than intuition.
  • Cultivate trusted mentoring relationships with students and families through consistent high standards and documented motivational strategies.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Design lessons, create curriculum, or evaluate assignments—Alpha's AI academic platform manages instruction; your focus is motivation.
  • Deliver lectures to large groups of 30 students—your work is intensive coaching in small settings, not mass instruction.
  • Supervise other staff or pursue administrative advancement—this role centers on direct student influence, not organizational rank.
  • Attend faculty meetings or deal with institutional bureaucracy—your schedule remains student‑focused.
  • Compromise standards to meet targets—if a student achieves 99%, your task is determining what prevented 100%.
Basic Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least one instance of exceptional achievement in a highly selective, globally recognized domain (e.g., national or international competition medals, top‑tier university with distinction, highly selective firm or fellowship, elite performing arts institution, or founding and scaling a successful venture).
  • At least 3 years of experience in student coaching, youth mentoring, athletic coaching, or leadership roles where you measurably raised others' performance.
  • Willing to work in‑person at an Alpha campus in Santa Barbara, CA;
    Santa Monica, CA;
    San Francisco, CA;
    Greenwich, CT;
    Boston, MA;
    New York City,…
