Part‑Time Instructor, Diesel Technology – FY 2027 Job Description

Teaching of Diesel Technology courses through both lectures and laboratory sessions, including lab safety training and evaluation of student mastery of required skills and competencies.

Provide advisement to students and may be requested to contribute to program and curriculum development as well as attend staff meetings and recruitment activities.

• Lecture and Lab instruction for Diesel Technology courses.
• Provide Lab Safety Training.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide advisement to students.
• Program or curriculum development (as requested).
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities.

• 5 years of experience in the Diesel Heavy Truck/Equipment Industry.

• Associate of Applied Science Degree in Diesel Technologies.
• Cummins/Caterpillar/Detroit Engine Certified.
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies.
• Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems.

Diesel Technology courses are taught at the North Las Vegas Campus, in‑person, during the day, afternoon, and evening.

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
