Part‑Time Instructor, Automotive Technology - FY2027 Job Description

Responsibilities of a part‑time Automotive Technology Instructor include but are not limited to:

• Lecture and lab instruction for automotive courses.
• Courses range from Introduction to Automotive Maintenance to Advanced Diagnostics.
• Provide lab safety training.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide advisement to students.
• Some program and/or curriculum development may be requested.
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.
• Automotive courses are taught at the North Las Vegas Campus, in‑person and are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekend.

Applications will be considered on an as‑needed basis determined by course availability.

• Current ASE certifications.
• 5 years of experience as a technician in the automotive industry.

• Associate of Applied Science degree in automotive technologies.
• G1 auto maintenance and light repair.
• Knowledge of computer classroom technologies.
• Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
• Knowledge in Canvas or other learning management systems.

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.

Automotive classes are scheduled in mornings, afternoons, and evenings, in accelerated 5‑week sessions, 8‑week sessions, and traditional 16‑week sessions.
