Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Data and Training Specialist supports the Senior Director and Early Education team in implementing the Early Childhood Literacy Readiness Program for Nevada Ready! State Pre-K programs and other United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) early childhood initiatives. This position provides administrative, technical, and programmatic support to ensure the effective delivery of services and successful outcomes for participating teachers, administrators, and UWSN staff.
The Data and Training Specialist is responsible for managing educational and programming data, delivering technical assistance, developing and facilitating professional learning opportunities, and supporting the effective use of instructional and student information systems. The role analyzes student achievement and program performance data to identify trends, measure impact, and inform continuous improvement efforts.
Working collaboratively with educators and stakeholders, the Data and Training Specialist develops training materials, conducts workshops and coaching sessions, and promotes data-driven instructional practices that enhance teaching quality and improve student outcomes. Through effective data management, professional development, and program support, this position contributes to the successful implementation and measurable impact of UWSN's early childhood education initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Data Management and Analysis- Collect, manage, validate, and analyze student achievement, attendance, assessment, and program performance data.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of student and program data within databases and information systems.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support decision-making by teachers, administrators, and program leadership.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify trends to support instructional improvement and program effectiveness.
- Assist school and program staff with data collection, validation, reporting processes, and compliance requirements.
- Support state, federal, and grant reporting activities by compiling and submitting required data and documentation.
- Maintain confidential student and staff information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, organizational policies, and data security standards.
- Coordinate, and facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers, instructional staff, administrators, and program partners.
- Provide training on student information systems, assessment platforms, learning management systems, educational technology tools, and program requirements.
- Support onboarding and orientation activities for new teachers and staff members.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of professional development through participant feedback, implementation data, and performance outcomes.
- Provide individualized coaching, technical assistance, and ongoing support to educators and program staff.
- Collaborate with curriculum and instructional leaders to identify and address professional learning needs.
- Support educators in analyzing and interpreting student data to inform instructional planning and decision-making.
- Assist with the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of instructional initiatives and early childhood programs.
- Promote best practices in data-driven instruction, literacy development, school readiness, and continuous quality improvement.
- Knowledge of early childhood development, literacy, and school readiness practices.
- Understanding of data-driven decision-making and continuous quality improvement processes.
- Familiarity with Nevada State Pre-K standards and requirements preferred.
- Knowledge of instructional best practices and adult learning principles.
- Understanding of program evaluation and outcome measurement.
