About the Role

As a Business, Innovation & Technology Teacher at Merryhill School, you will engage students in developing foundational business knowledge, entrepreneurial thinking, financial literacy, and the confidence to transform ideas into meaningful projects. Through hands-on, project-based instruction, students will explore real-world business concepts while strengthening their creativity, collaboration, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

You will also incorporate innovative practices and purposeful technology into the learning experience, helping students research ideas, design solutions, create digital content, and present their work effectively. We seek a confident, caring educator who sets high expectations, cultivates curiosity, and creates a vibrant classroom where students are encouraged to think critically, take intellectual risks, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

You will also:
  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in business, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, innovation, and technology
  • Introduce students to foundational business concepts such as budgeting, marketing, customer needs, product development, communication, and responsible decision-making
  • Guide students through hands-on projects that allow them to develop, refine, and present original business ideas or solutions to real-world challenges
  • Create opportunities for students to practice collaboration, project planning, leadership, public speaking, and creative problem-solving
  • Integrate technology as a tool for research, design, content creation, data organization, communication, and presentation
  • Help students develop responsible digital citizenship and use technology safely, ethically, and effectively
  • Create, manage, and participate in a variety of project-based learning environments and activities that encourage student exploration and achievement
  • Connect classroom learning to real-world business, community, and entrepreneurial experiences when appropriate
  • Differentiate instruction to support students across varying grade levels, abilities, interests, and learning styles
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop cohesive, cross-curricular learning opportunities
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student learning, progress, and classroom projects
  • Maintain a well-organized, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
  • Participate in professional development and continuous self-improvement as an educator
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Education, Entrepreneurship, Economics, Finance, Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • Teacher credential or substitute permit as specified under applicable state regulations
  • An advanced degree in education, business, or a related discipline is preferred
  • Prior experience teaching business, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, innovative studies, technology, or project-based learning preferred
  • Experience developing engaging, age-appropriate lessons that connect academic concepts to real-world applications
  • Strong communication, instructional, organizational, and classroom-management skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with instructional technology tools and digital platforms
