Assistant Professor of Epidemiology
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics in the School of Public Health.
Role of the Position:
The School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is recruiting for a full-time, tenure track faculty position in epidemiology at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics. Candidates must have a solid methodological background in epidemiology, excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong interest in teaching and mentoring of undergraduate, Masters and PhD degree-seeking graduate students, and ability to collaborate with research investigators in public health and/or related fields of study.
Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in epidemiology and/or public health, conduct scholarly work, as well as obtain extramural funding.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates are required to have a PhD in epidemiology or similar field (public health) from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
- Preferred candidates will have demonstrated post-doc experience, teaching ability, and a strong record of independent and competitively funded research, scholarly publications and service with graduate student committees.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in spatial and/or chronic disease epidemiology (particularly heart disease and cancer) preferred.
