The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Assistant Coordinator with Early Childhood Education. The primary focus of this position is to teach, instruct, and coach participants in various early childhood education programs serving children from birth to 5 years. Under the direction of the Senior Coordinator, this position will also develop and implement Early Childhood Workforce Development programs such as the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential coursework and Spiral Up Academy.

The Spiral Up Academy and the Preschool CDA program include a significant number of family child care participants. Because of this, the ideal candidate will have experience operating a private family childcare business, working closely with Family Child Care (FCC) programs, and coaching FCC providers. The Assistant Coordinator collaborates with community partners to enhance programming; cultivating professional relationships within the early childhood education professionals;

and conduct assessments and document activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience or a Master's degree and one year of related work experience. Related experience: in early childhood education to include both classroom teaching and administration and experience in adult education or a related field

Certificates or Licensures

  • Nevada Registry Approval Trainer (certificate)
  • Professional Development Specialist Approved by the CDA Council (certificate) if working with the CDA Program

Schedule

Work primarily Monday –Friday with some evening and weekend work. Will use own vehicle for travel around Clark County. Will be reimbursed for travel expenses.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees
