Pay Range: $26.86-$28.24 Status: Non-Exempt

Definition

The QRIS Inclusive Coach will provide support for Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) coaches with one-on-one training and observation and shadowing opportunities. The QRIS Inclusive Education coach will provide assistance upon coach's and site's request regarding support with the area of special needs. The QRIS Inclusive Education coach will assist with defining and partnering with community partners and programs within The Children's Cabinet.

The Inclusive Education coach will conduct administration support for providers and consultation opportunities. This position requires an understanding of best practices in Early Childhood Education;
State of Nevada licensing regulations; school district Pre‑K Programming;
Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS) and/or Infant Toddler Environment Rating Scale (ITERS);
Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCERS), and Nevada's Silver State Stars QRIS. The Inclusive Education coach will model best practices in early childhood education in all aspects of this position.

Duties
  • Achieve an understanding of agency mission, strategic focus areas and overall goals and objectives. Contribute to the success of these areas.
  • Read, understand, and apply all agency and department policy and procedures set forth in both the Agency Handbook and SEED Program Manual.
  • Achieve initial 80% reliability within 10 scale training visits on each ERS scale. Maintain 80% reliability annually.
  • Support child care programs by providing training and on‑site support:
  • Collaborate with providers to identify strengths and areas for improvement after analyzing FCCERS, ITERS and/or ECERS pre‑assessments.
  • Develop quality improvement plans for programs based on the program's ERS scores.
  • Provide on‑site visits to all programs enrolled in QRIS coaching program that need support.
  • Must deliver at least four (4) Nevada Registry approved training sessions each year.
  • Complete 15 hours of continuing education each year to remain a Nevada Registry qualified trainer.
  • Collaborate with other early childhood agencies that are providing technical assistance and coaching to identify and resolve program gaps and prevent duplication of services.
  • Collaborates with other SEED department services.
  • Maintain provider files, input information in applicable data systems, and generate reports.
  • Promotes and models their own continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Participate in the development of consumer education materials, (newsletters, tip sheets, calendars, brochures, etc.).
  • Performs other duties as assigned to assist in the overall operation of the agency.
  • Create an open and welcoming relationship with all coaches and child care programs.
  • Ongoing Q & A meetings with new coaches.
  • Create opportunities to shadow the coaches and provide hands‑on, modeling experiences onsite.
  • Build content into coaching onboarding within 6-12 months of hire date for coaches.
  • Act as a liaison between Pyramid model and the Early Childhood Consultant team.
  • Support administration with inclusion resources, conduct interviews to assist with avoiding miscommunication for inclusion children and assist with developmental screening tools.
  • Create a newsletter to highlight stories from the field by partnering with the Early Childhood Consultant Program.
Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of:

  • Quality standards and best practices in the field of early education, including knowledge of Environment Rating Scales (ERS), curriculum implementation, and child assessments.
  • Early childhood education practices and principles that encompass different types of child care settings.
  • Child care licensing requirements.
  • Adult learning techniques, facilitation skills, and technical assistance learning systems.
  • Computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, database programs, etc., and the desire to learn new programs.

Ability to:

  • Communicate clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally.
  • Be organized and use effective time management.
