Job Description
The Office of Student Government and Leadership Development is seeking two part-time Letter of Assignment employees to serve as the Charleston Campus Student Union Student Government Office Lead. We are seeking individuals who are student-centered, customer-service oriented, professional, dependable, and committed to creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
Under the supervision of the Director of Student Government and Leadership Development, the Charleston Campus Student Government Office Lead serves as a primary representative of the Student Government and Student Union Office. As a central hub within the Student Union, the Charleston Campus Student Government Office provides information, assistance, resources, and support to students and staff throughout the College of Southern Nevada (CSN).
In addition to providing administrative support to the Student Government and Leadership Development departments, the Leadership Front this staff member assists with the onboarding and orientation process for student employees and staff. The Director and/or members of the Director's Leadership Team may also assign this position to assist with departmental projects, events, programs, and special initiatives.
The West Charleston Campus Student Union Student Government Office Lead is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and front-office operations of the Charleston Campus Student Government Office. This position serves as the lead staff member in the office and helps ensure that all office functions, services, and interactions are carried out in a professional, timely, welcoming, and high-quality manner
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assistin the operation of the Student Government and Student Union front desks.
- On-site lead for Federal Work Student Students, Leadership Program Assistants, Student Government Members, and Leadership Program Volunteers.
- Identify discrepancies, resolve problems, and provide guidance to student staff; authorize and approve documents within assigned parameters.
- Participates in structured outreach for various student government and leadership development office initiatives.
- Function asa referral source throughout the academic year to support all students and student services areas at all three campuses.
- Inventory of all student government union supplies.
- Assist Student Government and Leadership Development Team with the implementation of an assessment planthroughouttheacademicyear.
- Attend andparticipatein all required training workshops provided in student services and college transition.
- Assist in Coordinating monthly meetings, and training student union staff.
- Guiding student staff through employeeonboardingincluding all essential documents and direct deposit information.
- Verifying payroll of student employees.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact and lead presence within the Henderson Campus Student Government Office.
- Verifying students are adhering to scheduling expectations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for emergency occurrences within the Student Government Office.
- Must have proficient computer skills including the ability to work remotely using various collaborative computer software such as MS Teams, Webex, and or Zoom.
