Part - Time Instructor, Earth Science - FY 2027 Job Description
CSN is seeking part-time instructors to teach Geology (GEOL),Environmental Science (ENV), Geography (GEOG), and Natural Resource Science (NRES) courses, primarily in an on-ground format, with potential opportunities for online instruction. Teachingassignments will include college-level courses in thesedisciplines, based on departmental needs.
Core Responsibilities- Teach college-level courses in the field.
- Develop syllabi and course materials.
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required bycourse outcomes.
- Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as studentadvisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
- Teach at multiple campuses in Clark County.
- Be available to teach day, evening and/or weekendcourses.
- For Lab Instructor:
Bachelor in the teaching field or acognate discipline from a regionally accredited College or University. - For Lecture Instructor:
Master of Science or PhD in the teaching field or a cognate discipline from a regionally accredited
College or University (with a minimum 18 graduate units in thediscipline). - For Both Lab Instructors and Lecture Instructors:
Ability to use educational technology, such as Word, PowerPoint and Canvas LMS (learning management system);
Ability and willingness touse campus email for all official communication.
- Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student bodyand/or workforce.
$925.00 per credit hour. Courses/Credits assigned may vary bysemester.
