Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Registrar Analyst, UNLV University Registrar [R0153192]

ROLE of the POSITION

Reporting to the Assistant Registrar for Curriculum and Academic Services, the position of the Registrar Analyst performs specific operational functions within Curriculum Management and Degree Audit in the Office of the Registrar’s Progression & Completion Enrollment Management unit, with moderate supervision. The position will perform duties which include the following: update student records in degree audit, encode degree audit reports, troubleshoot any degree audit report errors, assist in the maintenance and production of the undergraduate catalog, and aid in the technical review of program proposals and in the implementation of these proposals in Acalog, MyUNLV, and uAchieve.

In the course of this work, the Registrar Analyst has the authority to make decisions in limited instances on matters related to job functions and interacts with internal and external university colleagues and academic faculty. The Analyst explains and enforces policies and regulations on registration/enrollment, graduation, and other academic matters as described in undergraduate and graduate catalogs. This position exercises discretion, analytical observation, and independent judgment in daily operational decision making and must adhere to strict confidentiality measures, including compliance with the Family Educational Rights Act (FERPA).

The uAchieve report provides UNLV students an electronic check of their degree progress. We receive an average of 500+ degree audit exceptions monthly that require updating student records. The uAchieve report provides useful tools for evaluation, advising and graduation certification audit. UNLV offers 78 undergraduate majors and 84 minors (plus 38 teaching fields under secondary education) along with 115 graduate degrees and 7 professional degrees and over 10,000 courses.

During the undergraduate catalog cycle, approximately 300-400 curriculum changes are approved which requires updates, maintenance and documentation of the tables.
