** Position Overview Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing K–8 public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.

AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven Middle School Math & Science Teacher to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that develops students’ scientific reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills.

AMS teachers are collaborative professionals who believe all scholars can achieve at high levels through structured instruction, strong classroom culture, hands-on learning, and consistent use of data to inform instruction.

The ideal candidate is committed to supporting students in Title I communities while maintaining high academic expectations and creating a positive, engaging, and inquiry-based classroom environment.##

Key Responsibilities ### Instruction & Student Achievement
* Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction aligned with AMS curriculum frameworks
* Develop students’ scientific reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry skills
* Incorporate hands-on investigations, experiments, and real-world applications of scientific concepts
* Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level
* Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instructional planning and targeted interventions
* Prepare students for grade-level standards and assessments through engaging and purposeful instruction### Classroom Culture & Student Support
* Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment
* Implement PBIS and preventative intervention strategies
* Maintain a safe and organized environment for laboratory activities and hands-on learning
* Support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
* Encourage curiosity, collaboration, and a love of scientific discovery### Collaboration & Professional Growth
* Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities
* Collaborate with grade-level teams and instructional leaders to strengthen instructional practices
* Analyze student data and adjust instruction to improve student outcomes
* Contribute to school-wide systems focused on student achievement and continuous improvement### Family Engagement
* Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations
* Lead parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships
* Provide families with appropriate updates regarding student achievement, classroom expectations, and areas for growth##

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet the following requirements:
* Valid teaching license issued by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE)
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Science, Education, or a related field
* Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom and create a positive learning environment
* Commitment to serving Title I and multilingual learner communities
* Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven instruction
* Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and instructional leaders##
