TITLE: ADMINISTRATOR FOR ADULT EDUCATION AND SPECIAL PROJECTS (12 MONTHS)
QUALIFICATIONS:- A minimum of a master's degree from an accredited college/university.
- A valid New Jersey School Supervisor or Principal Certificate.
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in Adult Education, Alternative Education and/or School-to-Work Programs.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in administration or supervision.
- Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
SUPERVISES: JOB GOAL:Directing and coordinating Adult Education and Adult Education Initiatives and assigned Special Projects.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:- To coordinate the development and evaluation of curriculum for Adult Education and School-to-Work programs and make recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent for improvements.
- To coordinate the preparation of public relations materials to expand the community's general knowledge of the Adult and Community Education programs.
- To coordinate the preparation of grants and external funding applications for Adult Education and School-to-Work programs in accordance with district and grantor guidelines.
- To assist with the implementation, following Board approval, of new Adult/Community Education and School-to-Work programs.
- To assist in the identification of staffing needs, equipment, and other support, as needed, to implement assigned special projects.
- To coordinate all aspects, as delegated, in assigned special projects.
- To assist in the development of recommendations for specifications for new equipment and, in collaboration with the Board's Facilities Committee and Plant Services, make recommendations to the Assistant Superintendent for renovations and/or improvement to existing facilities as needed to implement the Adult Education and/or School-to-Work programs.
- To coordinate the activities of the Adult Education Advisory Committee.
- To coordinate the evaluation of all non-tenured and tenured personnel involved in the Adult Education and School-to-Work programs.
- To assist in the coordination of in-service and professional development programs for all Adult Education and School-to-Work personnel.
- To coordinate the development and implementation of career/job placement programs.
- To review applications, interview candidates and make recommendations for personnel to be assigned to the Adult Education programs.
- To prepare reports regarding budget, as required by state, federal, local, grantor or other external funding sources.
- To assist in the preparation of the annual budget, reflecting internal and external funding resources for the Adult Education/School-to-Work program and activities, and special projects, as assigned.
