Senior Hospitality Network Engineer

Define event engineering requirements, author methods and procedures to be executed on defined SNMP or syslog alarm conditions and validate test cases in lower environments.  Quickly understand preliminary product/platform concepts or high-level designs and subsequently author technical requirements as necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a related field.

The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field  Requires strong knowledge in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi related IEEE standards, protocols, and service-provider architectures.  2 + years' experience of Wireless (3

GPP/3

GPP2) standards, protocols, and service-provider architectures. Intermediate level knowledge in packet-based protocols (IP, DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc.). Intermediate level knowledge in MPLS and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP4, etc..).
Intermediate level knowledge of security protocols and authentication (WPA2, WISPr, EAP, 802.1x, AAA, RADIUS).  

* Certifications:

NRS II, CCNA, JNCIA
* Experience in telecommunications industry desired – preferably 5+ years operating in a tiered level technical service assurance and/or service implementation environment.
* Experience leading projects to enhance the network capability for existing and future services.
* Specific experience in the designing and operating of large scale service provider wireless networks. Broad experience should include:
Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 standards).
* Participation in SCTE and related certifications.
* Expert level knowledge in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi related IEEE standards, protocol, and service provider architectures.
* Expert level knowledge in packet-based protocols (IP, DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, etc.).
* Expert level knowledge in MPLS and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP4, etc..).
* Expert level knowledge in Network Monitoring Systems and Device/Network Management Systems, like SNMP, etc.  .
* Intermediate knowledge in Linux administration in a network tools or operation capacity (Cacti, NUTTCP, iPERF, RANCID, Nagios, Zabbix, etc.).Unix Shell and Scripting skills on Linux (or U ix systems) preferably CentOS, RHEL or FreeBSD. Familiarity with Network Analyzer tools such as Wireshark.
