Job Description
WSP is currently searching for a Safety Manager to join our Construction Management team for the Power Constructors, Inc. (PCI) sector in Las Vegas, Nevada. This field‑based role will split time between field offices across Nevada and on‑site locations such as transmission lines, substations, and telecommunications sites.

Your Impact- Lead the overall field execution of WSP’s safety management scope for the Greenlink Nevada Program.
- Coordinate technical and operational aspects of safety, ensuring alignment with contract scope and regulatory standards.
- Serve as the WSP field safety liaison between NV Energy, contractors, consultants, and agency representatives.
- Oversee construction safety strategies and promote a culture of safety excellence.
- Participate in executive‑level client briefings, board meetings, and progress reporting forums.
- Evaluate contractor safety performance and participate in performance reviews and closeout assessments.
- Lead innovation initiatives by promoting new tools, technologies, and process improvements.
- Communicate known job site hazards to WSP employees, subcontractors, and NV Energy.
- Develop, maintain, and execute Project Safety Management Plan and other safety‑related project execution documents.
- Develop, maintain, and execute WSP’s Site‑Specific Safety Plans for the Program.
- Review contractor SSPS and work plans to ensure compliance with NV Energy Safety Requirements and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist in identifying local medical, fire, and law enforcement agencies nearest the project site.
- Review safety and health contract requirements with contractors and subcontractors’ designated representatives.
- Inform subcontractors’ representatives of emergency response plan requirements.
- Participate in daily tailboard meetings and other project meetings as required.
- Perform periodic safety audits, report discrepancies, and share corrective action recommendations with WSP Management.
- Observe and report unsafe work activities to WSP Management and NV Energy safety representatives.
- Facilitate implementation of NV Energy 1st Application reporting, including field engagement, job observation, and safety incidents.
- Review construction contractor incident reports, root cause analysis, and process incident reporting.
- Maintain records to demonstrate Program compliance on the POWER
360 software program and 1st Application. - Verify new WSP employees and all project personnel complete EHS orientation training prior to working; maintain training completion roster and issue hard hat stickers.
- Provide technical input into WSP employee and subcontractor accident, injury, and property damage/loss investigations.
- Ensure WSP follows NV Energy incident and accident reporting procedures and corporate safety plan requirements.
- Provide monthly program safety statistical reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in safety management or closely related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- OSHA 30‑hour certification or equivalent health and safety training.
- 10+ years of experience as a safety manager on large complex electrical infrastructure projects.
- Strong leadership skills; experience supervising and managing subordinate safety managers.
- Proven history of managing multi‑site safety programs.
- In‑depth understanding of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1926 for construction) and state and local safety codes.
- Expertise in JHAs, SDSs, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to foster a safety culture, not merely enforce compliance.
- Skilled in developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Detail‑oriented and highly organized.
- Proactive risk‑mitigation mindset.
- Ability to prepare and present executive‑level progress reports, technical documentation, and briefings.
- Excellent communication skills with senior leadership, clients, and contractors.
