JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. Job Summary -- Essential Functions/DutiesA Field Engineer IV performs as a lead on more complex field engineering assignments and performs a variety of engineering assignments involving technology applications involved in the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of complex electronic and mechanical equipment and systems.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
- Experience with design, implementation, testing and maintenance on network and telecom equipment and systems.
- Performs as network lead on network field engineering assignments.
- Requires experience across different types of networking equipment and associated technologies.
- Strong understanding of WAN/LAN systems used to transmit voice, data and video across digital and fiber optic WAN/LAN infrastructure.
- Ability to design and implement solutions in accordance with commercial network standards.
- Experience with network layers 2/3 and TDM networking equipment.
- Experience with commercial carrier services and managing the system interconnects.
- Ability to manage, troubleshoot and repair physical and logical network infrastructure.
- Experience with CISCO network equipment.
- Experience with CIENA Optical Transport Network equipment.
An associate's degree in engineering or another technical discipline, or formal academic, vocational or military training and a minimum of 12 years of experience in the specialty field are required for this position.
In addition, a Telecom Engineer must possess the following qualifications:
- Broad knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enable performance as a senior technical contributor on complex projects or programs.
- Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.
- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
The expected salary range for this position is $93,600 to $135,200 annually.

JT4 considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Working ConditionsWork is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech and hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
