Overview
Kimley-Horn's Las Vegas, NV office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team! This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- Assist in the design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions.
- Work on a variety of municipal water and wastewater utilities designs.
- Manage project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinate work with other team members.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects.
- Maintain a high degree of quality in plans and review the work of others.
- Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.
- Perform a variety of engineering tasks and receive on‑the‑job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
- 2+ years of relevant municipal wastewater engineering design experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an ABET‑accredited university in Civil Engineering.
- “Engineer‑In‑Training” or “Engineering Intern” certification (or the ability to obtain within 12 months).
- Experience designing pipelines, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling calculations.
- Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent technical writing skills.
- Detail‑oriented and able to contribute to a positive work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
