JOB SUMMARY:
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Water Quality Specialist I/II. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Enforcing Clark County Stormwater Code 24.40 requirements
- Participating in enforcement activities
- Drafting, maintaining, and updating regulatory documents
- Reviewing grading plans, maps, permits, and GIS data
- Monitoring and maintaining a database and field application for documenting/tracking enforcement and performing inspections
- Coordinating and performing stormwater (nonpoint source) regulatory field inspections at construction, commercial, and residential sites
Water Quality Specialist I - $31.35 - $45.45 hourly
Water Quality Specialist II - $34.48 - $50.00 hourly

The Water Quality Specialist I is a flex position. Upon successful completion of the training program and meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher-level class, to include obtaining any required certifications and/or licenses, the successful candidate will be non‑competitively promoted to Water Quality Specialist II.
Education and Experience:- Water Quality Specialist I – Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in environmental, chemical, mechanical or civil engineering, biology, chemistry, physics or a related field.
- Water Quality Specialist II – In addition to the above; minimum of one (1) additional year of full-time experience in professional and technical tasks in support of water quality management and pollution control.
- Full-time professional experience in a related field may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two (2) years.
- Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of application.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Additional background investigations may be conducted periodically after employment.
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre‑employment drug examination.
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician. Specified positions may require a medical exam to determine ability to wear respiratory protection apparatus.
