We are seeking a dedicated professional engineer to join our team in the greater Las Vegas area, specializing in forensic engineering, structural damage assessment and failure analysis across commercial, residential and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience in determining causes of structural failure, storm and roof damage assessments, building envelope investigations and evaluating structural collapses. A Professional Engineer (PE) license in your state of residence is required.
Candidates should reside in the greater Las Vegas or greater Los Angeles areas.
Primary PurposeTo be responsible for the profitable investigation of events, systems, devices and/or failures and providing expert opinions.

Key Responsibilities- Determine the origin, cause and extent of structural failures of roof damage, water intrusion, post‑fire damage, storm damage assessments, structural integrity evaluations, structural collapse, building system failures, foundation/settlement, product liability and construction defects.
- Survey losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildings.
- Conduct investigations to determine and document the scope of damage caused by a recent acute event.
- Investigate and assess damages due to failures and determine the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.
- Analyze and document the failure analysis and causation of failures.
- Collaborate with other investigators to produce detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages.
- Serve as an expert witness in court and/or in depositions.
- Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license, minimum required for resident state. Prefer multi‑state licensing and/or active NCEES Record.
- Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to kneel, squat or bend.
- Must be able to work outdoors in hot and/or cold weather conditions.
- Have the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, reach/working overhead.
- Be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds.
- Be able to drive up to 4 hours per day.
- Hearing, vision and talking abilities required.
For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $130,000 - $150,000.
