We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to support federal construction projects, including infrastructure, government facilities, and defense-related initiatives. This role involves working on mechanical systems design, analysis, and compliance with federal regulations. You will collaborate with senior engineers and construction teams to ensure quality execution and project success.

Responsibilities- Assist in the design, specification, and implementation of mechanical systems for federal construction projects including HVAC systems, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Perform calculations, modeling, and evaluations for use in system design and to ensure system efficiency and compliance.
- Support project planning and coordination, ensuring adherence to federal standards and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues during construction.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, civil, electrical, and structural engineers.
- Prepare technical documentation, drawings, specification, reports, and compliance materials.
- Ensure project alignment with government regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, and federal procurement guidelines).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- In pursuit of EIT or PE License.
- Proficiency with CAD and modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in large-scale construction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of federal construction standards and regulations.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work on‑site and travel as needed.
- Previous experience in federal construction or government‑funded projects.
- Experience with sustainability and energy efficiency programs (e.g., LEED, Energy Star).
- Knowledge of procurement processes and federal contracting regulations.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Require minimum supervision.
Armitage offers a salary range of $84,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year. Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, group life insurance, company paid short and long term disability, Simple IRA with 3% company match, vacation time, sick time, and paid holidays.
