Geotechnical Engineering Lead – Nevada
Kleinfelder’s Nevada offices support a variety of public and private clients in Transportation, Energy, Water, Facilities and other projects. We are looking for a dynamic leader to grow the local practice and collaborate with other Nevada and West Region leadership.
Role OverviewThe Geotechnical Engineering Lead will hire and mentor new talent, oversee the technical practice, and lead business development activities. Responsibilities include developing technical scopes for proposals, scheduling and budgeting projects of various sizes, formulating local marketing plans, and managing projects from initiation to completion in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Hire, attract, and mentor high‑quality geotechnical engineers.
- Manage and develop the technical practice of the team.
- Lead business development initiatives, create technical scopes, and prepare proposals.
- Coordinate project planning, scheduling, and budgeting for projects of various sizes.
- Develop local marketing strategies and build client relationships.
- Oversee project delivery from cradle‑to‑grave, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot and provide client‑focused solutions to technical challenges.
- Collaborate with area leadership, project managers, and internal resources to allocate resources and deliver on commitments.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in geotechnics, slope stability, foundation design, and earthwork.
- 10+ years of consulting engineering experience.
- Minimum 4 years of project management experience.
- Experience leading diverse project teams.
- Proven business development and proposal preparation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multi‑tasking abilities.
- External focus to grow client relationships and develop business.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required; MS in geotechnical engineering or equivalent highly preferred.
- Nevada Professional Engineering license required.
