Operations Manager
Summary
The Engineering Department Supervisor serves as an Engineering Supervisor under the direction of the Engineering Department Manager and directly supervises assigned Department staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide direction to individuals and project teams within the department.
- Manage communication of goals/objectives and status/progress of engineering projects and tasks.
- Oversee or participate in product and project planning. Lead, coordinate, and control the delivery of products, processes, tools, and features in line with the JT4 Enterprise Engineering Processes (JEEP).
- Collaborate with all departments and engineering teams to continuously manage trade-offs between scope, resources and time during the project/task durations.
- Utilize reporting tools to analyze and monitor status of project and individual work efforts.
- Gain knowledge of customer needs and ensure customer requirements have been elicited for all engineering efforts.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to understand range user, customer, and contract support requirements. Collaborate with Air Force customers to obtain requirements, develop system requirements documents, acquisition and vendor statement of work documents, evaluation tests and summary reports.
- Authors or assists in writing technical proposals, requirements definitions, test plans and other technical documentation.
- Serves as the Engineering Manager's representative in customer meetings and delegated responsibilities.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Hardware, Software or Systems Engineering. In lieu of an Engineering Degree, a Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management or Organizational Management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
Ten years of experience leading project teams and managing a project portfolio.

Ability to communicate complex concepts, in a clear and decisive manner, both orally and in writing.
Knowledge and understanding of current engineering practices and standards. Ability to manage engineering projects efficiently and effectively. Write and prepare a variety of plans, reports, proposals, procedures, and other types of written communications.
Ability to lead and manage large and small projects with minimal direction and oversight. Ability to provide technical direction and manage other engineers, technicians and team members. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in both oral and written form. Ability to analyze data, resolve problems and make decisions independently. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships.
Routinely use project planning and office software in the performance of your job activities. Ability to travel as required by the Company.
Must possess a valid Nevada driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance in accordance with the contract requirements.
