Overview
Incorporated in 1997, Geo Tek is a full‑service consulting engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, and environmental consulting.
SummaryIndividuals will perform routine field testing and sample collection, following proper procedures and accurate computations. Daily reports detailing activities are prepared, and draft reports on tests performed are submitted for supervisor review.
Responsibilities- Operate in a safety‑sensitive position on construction sites, around heavy machinery with limited supervision.
- Obtain and maintain required field certifications as needed.
- Communicate with Supervisor and Dispatch to receive daily work assignments.
- Conduct various field tests and inspections on construction sites.
- Manipulate field equipment (e.g., nuclear gauge, shovel, sledgehammer) for testing, inspection, and sample collection.
- Perform physical testing, examinations, interpretations, and evaluations for residential and commercial projects.
- Navigate uneven terrain, including entering and exiting trenches with a ladder.
- Prepare daily data reports of testing and inspection.
- Maintain care and maintenance of assigned company equipment.
- Submit time sheet for approval each day.
- Train new personnel and review procedures of technicians as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required; 1+ year experience in grading or a Geology/Earth Science degree preferred.
- Knowledge of nuclear gauge, ICC Soils, and other certifications is a plus.
- Must own or be able to obtain a truck, van, or SUV for equipment and sample transport; vehicle reimbursement provided.
- Ability to drive 1–2 hours daily to job sites.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Perform general physical activities such as standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and moving heavy objects. Must be able to consistently lift or manipulate 25–75 pounds within an 8‑hour period. The job requires frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Work EnvironmentWork may be performed under adverse weather or site conditions and may involve confined spaces or heights. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
Compensation$19.99 – $26.00 per hour.
