Software Developer with Modeling, Simulation and Analysis experience required to join MTSI in Huntsville, Alabama.
About the ProgramJoin an advanced initiative aimed at enhancing missile defense capabilities by utilizing assets positioned in orbit to detect, track, and neutralize incoming threats before they reach their targets. The effort involves integrating cutting‑edge sensor technologies, advanced guidance systems, and precision engagement mechanisms to address emerging threats, including ballistic and hypersonic missiles.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply software, modeling, simulation, and analysis techniques to support Space‑Based Interceptor programs.
- Design and maintain models of orbital dynamics, sensor performance, interceptor engagement analyses, and threat scenarios.
- Perform system‑level assessments of design concepts, operational strategies, and system effectiveness to optimize interceptor performance.
- Use simulation tools and software, ensuring accurate integration with real‑time data.
- Support hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL), software‑in‑the‑loop (SWIL), and digital integration efforts for test and verification.
- Ensure compliance with DoD regulations, policies, and security standards throughout development and analytical processes.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, or a related technical discipline (educational background may be accepted in lieu of a degree).
- 9 years of experience in software development (C++) modeling, simulation, or analysis within aerospace or defense domains.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills to communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Experience utilizing AFSIM.
- Demonstrated knowledge of orbital mechanics, missile defense systems, and sensor technologies.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as MATLAB, STK, Simulink, Python, or other modeling software.
- Experience working with classified programs and knowledge of DoD security protocols.
- Must possess an active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret; US citizenship required.
