Role Accountabilities
  • Working as a key participant in our Mining Sector Team, providing technical leadership and contributing to critical projects.
  • Applying geotechnical engineering principles to develop effective solutions for surface mining projects, including tailings facilities, open pits, and mine reclamation efforts.
  • Performing geotechnical engineering reviews and providing key input on large‑scale, complex projects across the US and internationally.
  • Mentoring and developing mid‑level and junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team environment.
  • Supporting business development by identifying and pursuing growth opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Acting as or becoming the Engineer of Record on appropriate projects, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.

This role provides a dynamic mix of feasibility studies, design, construction quality assurance, and client engagement, providing opportunities for professional growth and leadership within the mining sector. This position may involve up to 25% travel to client sites and meetings, both within North America. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Professional engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, ArcGIS Pro, and geotechnical modeling software (e.g., Geo Studio, FLAC, PLAXIS).
  • Expertise in mine slope stability analysis, tailings dam design and siting, and soft‑ground mechanics.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
