• Full-time
The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul‑destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in designing the underground infrastructure that powers some of the world’s most ambitious tunneling projects. You’ll lead the geotechnical design and analysis behind every tunnel we build in Las Vegas, while helping shape the standards and engineering approach for future projects across new cities. From ground investigations and tunnel lining design to solving complex subsurface challenges, you’ll have a direct impact on technology that is redefining how cities move.

- Create temporary support of excavation designs, reports, and drawings.
- Produce tunnel lining design documentation, including lateral earth pressure calculations.
- Perform ground settlement and construction impact analysis of subsurface structures (e.g., shafts, tunnels) and 3rd‑party infrastructure (e.g., buildings, utilities).
- Create and oversee the implementation of settlement monitoring plans.

- Preliminary and final analysis and design experience (geotechnical investigation, slope stability analysis, support of excavation, construction impact on adjacent buildings and utilities, providing geotechnical design parameter recommendations).
- Position may require extended hours and weekend work.
- Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed (up to 20% travel).
- Employer‑paid medical, dental, and vision coverage.
