Role Description The Project Engineer:
Monorail & Transportation Projects will lead and support engineering activities for transit-related structures and systems, with a focus on monorail and light rail projects. This full-time, on-site role in Las Vegas, NV involves preparing and reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports, as well as coordinating with multi-discipline teams to ensure design quality and compliance with codes and standards.
The role includes managing project tasks and schedules, assisting with project planning, and providing engineering input during design, procurement, and construction phases. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to address technical issues, perform risk assessments, and support value engineering initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities also include participating in design meetings, responding to RFIs, supporting field investigations, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Project Engineering and Project Planning skills, particularly for transportation and monorail systems.
- Candidates should possess effective Project Management skills, including task coordination, schedule tracking, and stakeholder alignment.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, both written and verbal, for client interaction and team collaboration.
- Candidates should possess relevant Electrical Engineering knowledge applicable to transit systems, power distribution, and controls integration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience with transportation or rail/transit projects, including familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software, CAD tools, and general office productivity software.
- Ability to work on-site in Las Vegas, NV, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain licensure is highly beneficial.
