Project Engineer, Structural Engineer

Structural Engineer

Develop and review structural designs using established engineering principles, design criteria, codes, standards, and project specifications. Conduct field assessments under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Perform structural design calculations for structural steel, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, wood, light gauge metal, and foundation systems. Develop and verify structural engineering models for accuracy and compliance. Coordinate with contractors to identify and resolve structural design and construction issues.

Prepare technical reports and engineering documentation. Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of structural models, calculations, reports, and drawings. Research and apply new engineering practices, technologies, and industry standards. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities. Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring Engineering Interns, Design Engineers, and other Project Engineers. Contribute to initiatives that improve project efficiency, quality, and innovation.

Manage priorities and complete assigned work within project deadlines. Work independently while communicating effectively with project teams and senior staff. Perform other engineering duties as assigned.

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited four year college or university. Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is preferred. Minimum of three years of experience in structural or civil engineering. Professional Engineer license or equivalent is required. Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and practices. Ability to perform engineering analysis and solve technical problems.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Experience with structural analysis software such as SAP
2000 or RISA 3D is preferred. AutoCAD experience is preferred. Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot is preferred. Programming experience is a plus.
