Senior Utility Engineer (Construction)
The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Senior Utility Engineer (Construction) position. This position will be primarily responsible for:
- Leading, managing, and overseeing the construction of multiple small-, mid-, and large-scale projects as part of the District's Capital Improvement Program (CIP).
- Ensuring contractor conformance of the construction documents, and exercising sound independent judgment within procedural guidelines to resolve contractual and field conflicts encountered.
- Developing, initiating, and/or managing cost controls (change orders, invoicing, requests for information, claims) and project delivery (notices to proceed, construction submittals, schedule, notices of completion, project closeout) of multi-million dollar projects.
- Communicating and interfacing with the contractor, design consultant, District staff, and other public agencies and private parties.
- Establishing a positive working environment, leading by example, and mitigating conflict by demonstrating effective interpersonal skills, an ability to critically think, and be an active and engaged team member.

This title is a flex position. Upon successful completion of the training program and meeting the minimum qualifications of the higher-level class, to include obtaining any required certifications and/or licenses, the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted from a Utility Engineer II to a Senior Utility Engineer.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (such as Civil / Mechanical / Industrial / Electrical / Chemical / Construction Management).
- A minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, construction management or related areas, preferably water/wastewater.
- Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Nevada.
- Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.
- Reciprocity:
Employees with out-of-state Professional Engineer registration may seek Nevada registration through reciprocity within one (1) year from date of hire, subject to District and State requirements.
Background Investigation:
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Additional background investigations may be conducted periodically after employment.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing:
- Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
