Lead Cage Cashier – Overview
As the Lead Cage Cashier, you play a hands‑on role supporting the Cage Supervisor and department leadership by providing guidance and direction to front‑line cashiers during assigned shifts. You perform all standard cage cashier duties while ensuring accurate transactions, adherence to internal controls, and a high level of guest service. The Lead Cage Cashier also assists with training and addresses escalated issues.
Responsibilities- Assist with training and serve as a resource to team members to support performance, engagement, and adherence to company standards.
- Support daily operations by monitoring work areas, guest interactions, and service flow for quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Serve as a shift lead and escalation point for resolving basic team member or guest concerns, referring complex issues to management as needed.
- Provide direction and oversight to assigned cashiers during shift operations to ensure adherence to procedures and service standards.
- Monitor accuracy of transactions involving chips, coins, currency, checks, credit instruments, and promotional items.
- Promptly report any monetary discrepancies or procedural violations to the Cage Supervisor or Manager.
- Issue and receive funds related to guest activity, department requests, and interdepartmental exchanges.
- Balance assigned funds and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Operate coin and currency sorting/counting equipment, computers, telephones, and key control systems.
- Perform all duties of a Cage Cashier as needed and assist with shift coverage.
- Provide frontline support for select player club services and basic promotional inquiries.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, procedures, and property offerings to accurately support guests and staff.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title
31, and federal regulations. - Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company's guest service culture standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 1 year of experience in a high-volume casino cage or cashier environment.
- Prior experience in a lead or team support role preferred.
- Strong math, reconciliation, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Demonstrated ability to guide and motivate peers in a high-volume or guest-facing environment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to deliver coaching, relay expectations, and assist in conflict resolution.
- Reliable and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and support shift coordination.
- Flexible to adapt to changing business needs, schedules, and guest volumes.
- Committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and safety-conscious work environment.
- At least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.
- Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company.
- Verify right to work in the United States.
- Work cards:
Nevada Gaming Registration, Alcohol Awareness.
- Occasionally push/pull up to 50lbs.
- Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels.
- Occasionally squat, kneel, reach, bend, twist.
- Frequently sit and work at a desk or computer.
- Frequently standing and walking.
- Ability to communicate using in-person speech, radios, and telephone.
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sound in person.
- Ability to distinguish between shades of color.
- Ability to use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity.
