POSITION OVERVIEW
The Car Wash Attendant is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the car wash facility, providing exceptional customer service to our clients, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Greet customers and assist them with selecting the appropriate car wash service.
- Operate car wash equipment and machinery effectively and safely.
- Perform thorough pre-wash inspections on vehicles to identify any existing damage.
- Use cleaning agents and tools to remove dirt, grime, and other contaminants from vehicles.
- Dry vehicles using towels or air-drying equipment.
- Perform additional services such as waxing, vacuuming, and interior cleaning as requested by customers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the car wash facility, including cleaning equipment, emptying trash, and replenishing supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and resolving any issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Keep accurate records of transactions and maintain a secure cash register.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on assigned work location.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a customer service role preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of car wash equipment and cleaning techniques preferred.
Must maintain standards required by company’s insurance requirements to operate customers’ vehicles at the car wash location.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNo supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS- Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
- Written communication skills in English may also be required.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The role involves handling sensitive and confidential information, requiring a high level of integrity and discretion.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Standing for long periods of time.
- Repetitive full body movement.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to withstand exposure to weather.
- Ability to bend, twist and climb ladder and work at heights above eight (8) feet.
- Ability to stand, stoop, lift, wipe, reach and type without assistance from others.
- Handling of liquids, plastics, glass, paper, rubber, petroleum products and potential exposure to hydrocarbons.
