The
Director of Technical Operations & Venue Production
is a full-time, on-site position based primarily at The STRAT Theater in Las Vegas.

This senior leadership role oversees technical and production operations for resident shows, concerts, touring productions, television shoots, corporate events and special engagements.

The Director will oversee professional audio, theatrical lighting, video, LED, communications and show-control systems while leading technical teams and coordinating with producers, stage managers, designers, performers, vendors and venue partners.

Responsibilities include programming and troubleshooting QLab show files, lighting consoles, audio and video systems, reviewing technical riders, preparing production plans and labor estimates, coordinating load-ins and rehearsals, scheduling technical personnel and supervising live performances, changeovers and strikes.

The Director will also oversee equipment maintenance, system documentation, production budgets, vendor relationships, safety standards and technical planning for new shows and venue rentals.

This is a highly hands-on position. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable programming shows, troubleshooting technical issues, supervising crews and developing practical solutions in a fast-paced live-entertainment environment.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in theatrical production, casino entertainment, touring productions or a comparable live-entertainment venue.
  • Advanced professional experience programming and operating QLab.
  • Strong hands-on experience with theatrical lighting consoles and lighting-control systems.
  • Thorough understanding of professional audio consoles, signal flow, playback systems and production communications.
  • Experience with professional video playback, projection, media servers, LED displays and video-routing systems.
  • Experience reviewing technical riders and preparing production plans, staffing requirements, labor estimates, schedules and equipment needs.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising technical teams, stage crews, operators and freelance production personnel.
  • Strong technical-support and troubleshooting skills across audio, lighting, video and integrated show-control systems.
  • Ability to create and maintain operating procedures, system documentation, maintenance schedules and reliable backup procedures.
