The Director of Treasury is responsible for overseeing all treasury functions for a gaming and hospitality organization, including cash management, liquidity planning, debt and covenant compliance, banking relationships, risk management, and capital structure strategy. This role ensures the company maintains strong liquidity to support casino operations, regulatory requirements, capital investments, and growth initiatives while managing financial risk across multiple properties and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities Cash & Liquidity Management- Oversee daily cash positioning and forecasting across casino, resort, and corporate entities.
- Manage liquidity planning to support gaming operations, capital expenditures, debt service, and regulatory reserve requirements.
- Optimize cash utilization across multiple properties and legal entities.
- Lead relationships with banks, trustees, and financial institutions.
- Negotiate banking agreements, credit facilities, letters of credit, and merchant processing arrangements.
- Oversee casino cage banking structures, armored car services, and cash logistics.
- Manage corporate debt portfolio, including revolvers, term loans, bonds, and lease financing.
- Ensure compliance with debt covenants, reporting requirements, and lender communications.
- Support refinancing activities, capital raises, and strategic financing initiatives.
- Oversee interest rate, foreign exchange, and counter party risk management strategies.
- Manage insurance programs in coordination with risk management teams.
- Develop internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure SOX compliance.
- Ensure treasury activities comply with gaming regulations, AML requirements, and jurisdictional cash-handling rules.
- Coordinate with compliance and legal teams on regulatory audits and inquiries.
- Maintain documentation required by gaming regulators related to cash, financing, and liquidity.
- Partner with executive leadership on capital planning, acquisitions, and expansion projects.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the treasury team, establishing best-in-class treasury practices.
- Oversee treasury management systems (TMS) and banking platforms.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting.
- Establish standardized treasury policies and procedures across properties.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- 7+ years of progressive treasury experience, preferably within gaming, hospitality, or highly regulated industries.
- Experience managing multi-entity, multi-property cash environments.
- Strong expertise in cash forecasting, debt management, and liquidity planning.
- Knowledge of gaming industry cash controls, cage operations, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with treasury management systems and banking portals.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate with executive leadership.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with lenders, regulators, and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with hands‑on execution capability.
- Experience in publicly traded gaming companies or large regional casino operators.
- Familiarity with AML, Title 31, and gaming commission requirements.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, new property openings, or international gaming operations.
