About the Role
As Skillz continues to scale, we’re hiring an FP&A Analyst to support financial forecasting, reporting, and business performance analysis. This role will help improve decision‑making through accurate financial insights, stronger forecasting, and enhanced visibility into the impact of key business initiatives.
Responsibilities- Support forecast preparation and updates for assigned accounts or business areas, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Analyze financial results and variances, identify key drivers, and communicate actionable insights to finance leadership and business partners.
- Prepare recurring monthly reporting packages and assist with variance analysis during close cycles.
- Maintain assigned portions of financial models, ensuring formula integrity, data accuracy, and structural clarity.
- Validate inputs and assumptions used in forecasts and budgets, identifying inconsistencies or risks.
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes through accurate data consolidation and analysis.
- Monitor forecast risks and opportunities within assigned areas and elevate issues as appropriate.
- Contribute to financial model, reporting, and process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and operational rigor.
- Document financial processes and maintain clear, structured supporting analyses to ensure accuracy, traceability, and continuity.
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, forecasting concepts, and variance analysis.
- Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and explain financial drivers logically and clearly.
- High standards for data accuracy, formula integrity, and reporting precision.
- Ability to take responsibility for assigned areas and meet deadlines consistently.
- Understanding of workflows and a drive to improve efficiency and clarity.
- Skill in communicating financial insights concisely to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Rapid acquisition of business drivers, systems, and FP&A processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in FP&A, accounting, corporate finance, consulting, or a related analytical role, internship experience included.
- Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting principles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel or similar financial modeling tools.
- Experience preparing or supporting financial reporting and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with financial systems or other similar tooling preferred.
- Experience working with SQL or other data querying tools preferred.
Total Starting Compensation including Base + Bonus: $75,000
Location: Onsite, Las Vegas, NV
Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
