About the Role
Skillz is looking for a sharp, detail-oriented finance leader to own our financial planning engine. You'll translate Skillz's short and long-range ambitions into concrete financial plans and hold the organization accountable to them.
You will own our planning calendar and stakeholder communications, drive monthly management reporting, partner with People Ops on headcount planning, and lead cost tracking and budgeting across the business. This is a role for someone who thrives on structure and loves turning complexity into clarity.
Responsibilities- Owning FP&A calendar and cost budgeting.
- Setting up business processes to work with and manage subsidiary relationships.
- Month-end and quarter-end board presentations.
- Ad Hoc analysis that often arrives.
- Organized:
Owning and managing the FP&A calendar, ensuring we remain on track with closing. - Headcount Planning & Cost Modeling:
Translating Skillz's strategies into numbers. - Stakeholder Ownership:
Experience with planning, business and board reviews, timeline and communication expectations. - System Knowledge:
Netsuite or similar ERP systems. - Data Fluency:
Process creation, automation, and data including proficiency or interest in SQL.
- A minimum 6 years of experience in FP&A roles (corporate - budget and consolidation). Bonus if you have investment banking or management consulting experience.
- Extensive consolidation, headcount planning and cost modeling experience.
- SQL experience or interest. Knowledge of how to retrieve data and information from Snowflake. Tableau experience is a plus.
- Consistent track record of success as proven by business results and in-company promotions.
- Strong preference for gaming or tech (media tech or consumer tech) industry.
- Bachelor's Degree. Preference for degree in Business or Economics.
Total Starting Compensation including Base + Bonus: $152,000
Location: Onsite, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
