The Financial Consultant provides in person and virtual counseling for participants, new entrants, prospects, beneficiaries and their legal and financial representatives on the full spectrum of TIAA products and services. The role covers institutions aligned to regional structures and offers financial planning advice via in person, phone, and video chat to help clients achieve both immediate and long‑term goals.
During the initial training period you will be paid hourly with overtime; after training the position becomes exempt and salaried at 40 hours/week. All required licenses must be obtained within 120 days of starting.
Hybrid Flex PositionRegional travel to client institutions at least 3 days a week, with the ability to work remotely the rest of the week. Occasional travel up to 25% of the time outside your assigned territory may also be required.
Key Responsibilities- Counsel participants on pension plans, tax‑deferred annuities and other investment options to help clients retain and grow assets.
- Educate, recommend, and facilitate new product purchases (mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529, 403(b), bank products, life insurance, and others) and provide authoritative information to support financial planning decisions.
- Interact with retirement plan participants to provide exceptional customer service and execute transaction and service requests.
- Use knowledge of tax and investment strategies to inform financial advice tailored to clients’ needs and objectives.
- Communicate internally with cross‑business partnerships to develop and implement TIAA products and services in support of clients and company initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Institutional Plan Sponsors.
- University degree preferred.
- 3+ years required; 5+ years preferred.
- Series 7;
Series 63.
- Life and Health Insurance License (Resident State) – multiple issuers required within 120 days.

CompensationBase pay range $75,400/yr – $100,000/yr. Pay may vary based on experience, role, industry, location and peer comparison. Additional incentives may be available through performance‑based programs.
