About the TeamWe are seeking a strategic and analytical finance leader to join the Strategic Finance team and support the growth of affirm’s point‑of‑sale ("POS") merchant business, which includes relationships with some of our largest merchants and partnerships. The role will partner directly with leaders across Sales, Client Success, Strategic Partnerships and Product to drive business outcomes through strategic and analytic support.
Strategic Finance plays a central role in shaping company strategy, enabling executive decision‑making, and driving performance against key objectives. This role sits within the Revenue Finance group—a high‑impact, lean team with significant cross‑functional ownership. As a Senior Manager, you will operate as a thought partner to senior leadership, owning critical work streams across planning, forecasting, and performance management. You will drive clarity in ambiguous situations, influence key decisions, and help scale the business efficiently and profitably.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to Product, Growth Analytics, Credit, Revenue, and Merchant Pricing, influencing product strategy, investment decisions, and go‑to‑market execution
- Lead and scale a high‑performing team, aligning team priorities with company objectives and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Own and evolve merchant growth forecasting and translate insights into actionable strategies and business recommendations
- Lead top‑line planning processes, including target setting, forecasting, and performance tracking; deliver clear, concise reporting and insights to executives and senior leadership
- Build and scale automated dashboards, reporting, and analytical frameworks to improve visibility and decision‑making across the organization
- Identify key drivers of performance, surface risks and opportunities, and drive accountability against business goals
- Synthesize complex analyses into clear, compelling narratives that inform strategic decisions and align cross‑functional stakeholders
- Proven ability to operate with ownership and influence in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment, with strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- 10+ years of experience in analytical roles (e.g., strategic finance, investment banking, consulting, data science, or analytics), with demonstrated impact on business outcomes and forecasting
- Prior people‑management experience with a player–coach mindset, leading and developing analysts while remaining hands‑on in complex, high‑impact analyses
- Strong business judgment, with the ability to connect detailed analyses to broader strategic context and executive‑level decisions
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and influencing decisions across cross‑functional teams
- Expert in financial modeling; working knowledge of SQL and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma or similar) preferred
- Nice to have:
- Familiarity with lending / buy now pay later business models and metrics
- Experience leveraging AI‑driven tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to enhance analytical workflows and insight generation
