Clark County Code Enforcement - Public Response Office, a division within the Administrative Services Department, is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of Senior Code Enforcement Specialist. The Public Response Office provides code enforcement for all of unincorporated Clark County. As a member of the Code Enforcement division, you will act as a Lead to the Code Enforcement Specialists.
The selected candidate will be responsible for field training, as well as receiving and responding to complex complaints of potential violations of Clark County Code Title 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 22 and 30.
This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

Education and Experience:Equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college level course work in construction technology, pre-engineering, business or a field related to the work AND two (2) years of full-time experience in enforcing zoning, building or related codes and regulations, preferably in a public agency setting. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions:Work out of doors in various weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous materials, animals, insects and/or noxious plants.
Licensing and Certification:Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment.
Background Investigation:Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Medical Examination:Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing:Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug test.
- Provides lead direction, training and work review to a small group of Code Enforcement Officers; organizes and assigns work, sets priorities, and follows-up to ensure coordination and completion of assigned work.
- Provides input into selection, evaluation, disciplinary and other personnel matters; may sign evaluation forms and counsel employees as required.
- Receives and responds to complaints regarding zoning violations, debris, solid waste, abandoned or inoperative vehicles, weeds and other zoning code violations.
- Inspects existing properties and/or other buildings and construction for conformance to codes, regulations and plans; inspections may cover building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical as well as zoning requirements.
