Overview
At Nevada Heart and Vascular Center the Testing Coordinator, under the direction of the Radiology Manager and clinic physicians, will assist patients in obtaining necessary records and labs prior to testing, schedule and reschedule testing dates, and call patients to inform them of expectations and instructions for ordered tests (including nuclear stress tests, PET scans, and CTA). The coordinator will ensure all patient needs are met before the testing date.
Responsibilities- Follow all policies, procedures, and directives from administration, including OSHA Safety Manual, Corporate Compliance Manual, HIPAA Compliance Manual, Employee Handbook, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Prepare correspondence and documentation.
- Work as a vital part of a team of medical professionals.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with clerical tasks as needed.
- Obtain lab results for patients prior to appointments.
- Explain details of ordered tests and necessary requirements to complete the test.
- Refer to senior staff for assistance with higher‑level problems if needed.
- Escalate issues to the supervisor for resolution as deemed necessary.
- Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Meet and exceed short and long term goals established for the department.
- Perform duties and job functions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Report to work, attend meetings, and fulfill professional obligations on time.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Assist in evaluating reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.
- Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvements in departmental efficiency and services performed.
- Take ownership of special projects, research data, and follow through with detailed action plans.
- Accurately review, analyze, and update patient medical records and coordinate resolutions between appropriate parties.
- Attend staff and other meetings and training courses as needed.
- Complete any other duties as assigned and adhere to corporate, department, and HR policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a medical setting preferred but not required.
- General computer skills with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
- Detail‑oriented with good analytical and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cohesively within a team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, staff, physicians, and all levels of management.
- Required visual and auditory acuity to communicate with employees and customers to meet business needs of NHVC.
- Must be able to see written documentation and speak and hear for communication with employees, physicians, and patients.
- Ability to use a wide array of office equipment including, but not limited to a PC, copier, fax machine, and multi‑line telephone.
- Exposed to general indoor working conditions and may on occasion require light lifting or no greater than 20 pounds and some offsite travel.
