Responsibilities

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as a FT Activity Therapist (CTRS required). The Activity Therapist provides quality case management and psychotherapeutic services as part of a multi-disciplinary team, supports the hospital's treatment program and philosophy, and delivers treatment to patients and their family members. The role includes providing social histories, case management, and psycho-educational groups to age-specific populations.

Plans, implements, and evaluates activity therapy programs, completes programming, assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge planning as assigned. Strong communication and observation skills and the ability to accurately process and document information are essential.

• Plans and directs recreational activities, structured diversion, or outings under the direction of the Program Director and Activity Therapy Coordinator.
• Maintains Activity Therapy charting policy and procedures and manages own caseload.
• Plans and implements activities outside the hospital setting that are treatment oriented.
• Implements therapeutic recreation programs on the assigned unit.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required by this position.

Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. Our primary location, Spring Mountain Treatment Center, focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients age 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens.

Our secondary location, Spring Mountain Sahara, houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs.

REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an Accredited University in Recreation Therapy
• Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS), Art Therapist with certification or any recreation therapy specialty
• Must be certified in CPR/FA
• Minimum of one year experience working in a psychiatric facility preferred
• Ability to administer Activity Therapy assessment and interpret to write ITPs
• Knowledge of treatment programs, leisure education, social skill development, arts, and sports as needed
• Ability to modify activities according to patient participation and/or disability
• Experience with age-specific inpatient setting preferred
• Experience in taking psychosocial history and case management
