The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Health Informatics Scientist in the Informatics Department. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
Responsible for applying informatics principles and methods to ensure effective design, use and management of information systems for public health, clinical care, disease surveillance and epidemiological reporting.

Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course study in public health informatics, computer science, public health, data science, or closely related field and two (2) years of professional health informatics and analysis experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
- Some positions may require specialized skills, experience, certification, license, or other requirements which will be identified by the hiring authority at time of recruitment.
- Understanding of laboratory results, susceptibility testing, and microorganism terminology
- Proficiency in SQL to write optimized queries
- Knowledge and experience with programming langauges
