Job Description:
Responsible for greeting and registering all incoming patients and their representatives, ensuring necessary information required for admission is accurately recorded and processed while maintaining confidentiality within HIPAA guidelines. Plays a pivotal role in the operational efficiency of healthcare services delivery. This position requires individuals who are detail‑oriented, adaptable, and equipped with the necessary experience and skills to handle the demands of the dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients and their representatives upon arrival.
- Collect and verify patient admission information.
- Enter admission data into patient accounting systems.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and PCI regulations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate seamless admissions.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of two years hands‑on experience in a hospital registration setting or urgent care preferred. Comprehensive understanding of patient admission processes.
- Technical
Skills:
Computer proficiency including word processing and patient accounting systems. HIPAA and PCI compliance. Insurance knowledge preferred. - Other: Ability to provide age‑appropriate services. Some positions may require interpretation/translation skills in bilingual targeted language.
