Medication Technician
Our Spencer Street location is seeking part‑time Medication Technicians to serve as a member of the care delivery team, providing expertise in medication assistance, documentation, and compliance.
ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will ensure that processes and documentation are in full compliance with best practice and licensing requirements, serving as the designated medication passer on shift and ensuring that all medications (prescription and over‑the‑counter) are dispensed and documented properly. You must be able to understand and follow all standard and facility‑specific medication and documentation policies and practices, observe residents for change in condition, properly report any changes promptly, and communicate any issues or concerns regarding medications, resident response to medications, or refusals of medications.
Additional duties include complete regular audits of medication carts, ensure proper organization of client medication documentation and MARS, and communicate relevant information regarding medication inventories to ensure appropriate supplies of over‑the‑counter medications and prescription drugs, and communicate with pharmacies and providers regarding needed medications, refills, medication labels, etc.
- Current Medication Administration certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of one year of successful work experience in an Assisted Living Facility or Residential Facility for Groups, or similar setting, where medication administration was included in the job duties.
