Job Summary and QualificationsThe staff Speech/language Pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, assessment and treatment of a wide variety of patients, including, but not limited to patients with neurological, orthopedic, cardiac, and other medical conditions in the areas of acute, subacute, rehabilitation and outpatient speech/language pathology.
The staff Speech/language Pathologist must evaluate and treat patients in accordance with the rules and regulations of this facility, the American Speech/language Hearing Association (ASHA), and the State of Nevada.
The staff Speech/language Pathologist must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the lifespan, assess, and interpret data reflective of the patient’s medical status and age‑specific needs, in order to provide the appropriate care, as described in the department’s policies and procedures.
The staff speech/language pathologist will provide goal‑directed treatment program planning, implementation and modification, as well as related documentation and communication for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations, without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin.
- MS or MA Speech Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech/Language Hearing Association.
- Documentation, communication, treatment planning, related equipment FEES and MBS preferred, not required.
- One to two years in hospital setting preferred. CFY may be considered. Entry‑level graduates will be considered.
- State of Nevada Board of Examination for Audiology and Speech Pathology.
- BCLS upon hire.
