Northwest Talent Solutions LLC is conducting a confidential leadership search for a Director of Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) to lead biomedical engineering and clinical equipment operations within a large acute-care hospital environment.
This is not an IT leadership role.
This position oversees the clinical engineering/biomedical department responsible for the safety, performance, and lifecycle management of medical equipment across the facility.
The Director will lead the hospitals Healthcare Technology Management program and ensure all medical devices and clinical equipment meet regulatory, operational, and patient-safety standards.
What You'll LeadYou will oversee the team responsible for inspection, maintenance, integration, and compliance of patient-care technology including:
- Patient monitoring systems
- Infusion devices
- Imaging and diagnostic equipment
- Life-support and critical-care devices
- Network-connected medical equipment
You will serve as the bridge between hospital leadership, clinical departments, and vendors to ensure safe and reliable medical technology operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Biomedical / Clinical Engineering team
- Implement and manage the hospital Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) program
- Develop service delivery plans and operational workflows
- Oversee medical equipment lifecycle management and technology assessment
- Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance (Joint Commission, CMS, etc.)
- Manage vendors, service contracts, and capital equipment planning
- Perform risk analysis and device safety oversight
- Support device integration and operational readiness
- Establish and track departmental KPIs and reporting
- Partner with clinical leaders to improve patient safety and care delivery
- 5+ years in Healthcare Technology Management, Clinical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
- Experience managing or leading a Biomed/Clinical Engineering department
- Experience with CMMS systems and equipment maintenance programs
- Knowledge of hospital regulatory and compliance standards
- Associates degree or technical certification (Bachelors preferred)
- Hospital-based Biomed or Clinical Engineering leadership
- Experience managing medical equipment service programs
- Vendor contract and capital equipment planning experience
Team leadership and staff development experience - Strong collaboration with nursing and clinical departments
- Leadership ownership of the entire HTM program
- High visibility with hospital executive leadership
