Job Summary and Qualifications

The speech/Language Pathologist is responsible to provide complete diagnostic, assessment and therapeutic procedures for patients who have suspected or demonstrated cognitive, communication deficits and/or dysphagia. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

The speech/Language Pathologist will provide goal directed treatment program planning/implementation, related documentation and communication for pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient populations.

What qualifications you will need:

* Licensed in the State of Nevada.

* Masters Degree in Speech and Language Pathology.

* Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Language Speech & Hearing Association.

* One to two years in hospital or rehab setting preferred. CFY will be considered. Training or practicum in areas of aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, cognitive deficits, dysphagia, neurological disorders, cleft palate and voice disorders is required.
