Intern - Food & Beverage

The Palms Casino Resort and Palms Place Summer Internship Program is an exciting opportunity for aspiring hospitality professionals to gain hands-on experience in an integrated resort environment. Interns will focus on a key area and have the option to rotate through other departments, receive mentorship from industry leaders, and actively contribute to real-world hospitality operations, all while immersing themselves in the culture of the Palms.

Requirements:

• Actively pursuing a degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a status of Junior or Senior or a graduate within the last year.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English.
• Polished appearance and demeanor.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License, if needed for the position.

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed in various settings to include closed offices and casino floor.
• Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
• May be exposed to smoke.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

• Constant contact with executives, department management, team members, and guests.
• Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
• Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Eye/hand coordination.
• Use of standard office equipment.
• Ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
